Simulink Support for Quanser Workstations
Use Simulink with Quanser workstations to bring the advantages of project-based learning to your control systems and mechatronics curriculum. Implementations include simulations, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, real-time applications, and rapid control prototyping.
- Simulink integrates tightly with Quanser’s QUARC® software to provide real-time operating system services and hardware support.
- Quanser hardware products include a wide variety of linear, rotary, mechatronic and robotics plants, as well as data acquisition cards and power amplifiers.
- A wide range of third-party devices such as KUKA robots, SensAble Phantoms® Series, and more are supported.
An Integrated Solution for Classroom Activities
Many Quanser experiments also include curriculum material such as instructor and student workbooks, detailed set-up guides, and pre-designed Simulink controllers, allowing instructors to:
- Give students hands-on experience with industry practices such as rapid control prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop testing and simulation.
- Demonstrate the variety of controller implementations such as real-time on Windows, dedicated processor, and distributed control.
- Use Simulink External mode to tune the controller parameters and monitor the signals on-the-fly directly from the Simulink block diagram.
Virtual Plant Simulation
Students can run a real-time simulation of the plant in parallel with the actual controller using Virtual Plant Simulation (VPS), a Simulink model of the plant integrated with visualization tools within QUARC. VPS is available for selected Quanser plants, including SRVO2, Active Suspension, and 3 DOF Gyroscope, and can be purchased separately from the hardware.
