The MATLAB® software provides an interface to the Sun™ Java™ programming language that enables you to create objects from Java classes and call Java methods on these objects. A Java class is a MATLAB data type. Native and third-party classes are already available through the MATLAB interface. You can also create your own Java class definitions and bring them into MATLAB.
The MATLAB Java interface enables you to
Access Java API (application programming interface) class packages that support essential activities such as I/O and networking
Access third-party Java classes
Easily construct Java objects in MATLAB
Call Java object methods, using either Java or MATLAB syntax
Pass data between MATLAB variables and Java objects
Read more about Java classes in MATLAB in Calling Sun™ Java™ Commands from MATLAB® Command Line in the MATLAB External Interfaces documentation.
