Return the exponent bias for a quantizer
Syntax
Description
b = exponentbias(q) returns the exponent bias of the quantizer q. For fixed-point quantizers, exponentbias(q) returns 0.
Examples
Algorithm
For floating-point quantizers,
, where e = eps(q), and exponentbias is the same as the exponent maximum.
For fixed-point quantizers, b = 0 by definition.
