C4ISR

Harris Corporation

"EDA Simulator Link provided a direct cosimulation interface between our MATLAB model and our logic simulator, which enabled us to verify our design earlier, identify problems faster, complete more tests, and compress our entire development cycle."

Read the story

Engineers use MATLAB and Simulink to collaborate on their C4ISR designs in a single tool environment across multiple domains, such as digital baseband, analog and mixed-signal, and radio-frequency. They integrate subsystem designs to optimize high-level performance characteristics such as end-to-end system bit-error rate (BER). Model-Based Design with MathWorks tools provides a well-documented and rigorous hardware design and validation process that facilitates working with high-integrity standards such as DO-254.

Perform System Modeling and Validate Designs Prior to Implementation

Engineers create multidomain system-level models in MATLAB and Simulink to verify the performance of their communication, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems before building prototypes. By simulating the models, they verify that performance requirements, such as those for data-transmission rates or BERs, are met for a range of signal-to-noise ratios.

Rapidly Iterate Between Design and Implementation

Engineers working in MATLAB and Simulink move from algorithm to implementation in a single environment. This approach enables them to rapidly iterate design changes during implementation phases, such as floating-to fixed-point conversion, timing analysis, and C or HDL coding.
