We support programs that inspire learning and advance education in engineering, science, and math. Our strong commitment to education comes from believing in the power of learning and the ability of engineering, science, and math to find innovative solutions to real-world problems.
Student engineering competitions inspire the next generation of innovators to learn and develop problem-solving skills. Teams throughout the world use MathWorks tools, financial support, training, and coaching from our staff to achieve competition objectives. The MathWorks sponsors student programs that span a variety of disciplines, including automotive, aerospace, systems biology, communications, and robotics.

The mission of the Museum of Science, Boston—to stimulate interest in and further understanding of science and technology and their importance for individuals and for society—aligns well with our mission. Our corporate membership helps people become acquainted with concepts in engineering, science, technology, and math. In 2008, The MathWorks is the title sponsor of the Mugar Omni Theater, Boston’s only 180-degree domed movie screen.
The Palais de la découverte science museum in Paris, France, offers educational exhibits in the fields of chemistry, physics, mathematics, life sciences, earth sciences, astronomy, and astrophysics. In 2008, The MathWorks is sponsoring an interactive exhibit, powered by MATLAB® software, that lets visitors experience the world of insects.
The MathWorks selectively supports engineering students who excel in using our tools to develop innovative solutions to complex problems. We fund a limited number of graduate fellowships and university studentships at:
