INTEC GmbH develops the technology leading multi-body code SIMPACK. With the help of its partners and subsidiaries, INTEC distributes and supports SIMPACK worldwide. INTEC GmbH additionally offers consulting and engineering services to a wide customer base in the automotive and truck market. SIMPACK is a tool used to simulate mechanical systems; it is able to analyse vibrational behaviour, calculate forces and accelerations, and describe and predict the motion of any complex multi-body system. The basic concept of the multi-body simulation software SIMPACK is to create the equations of motion for mechanical and mechatronic systems. A CAD like model is built-up, and various different calculation methods are used (e.g. time integration) to obtain a solution. SIMPACK offers an extensive range of interfaces to FEA, CAD and CACE systems. The interfaces SIMAT, a co-simulation tool, and MATSIM, the export of a Realtime Workshop model couple SIMPACK to MATLAB/Simulink. These interfaces allow mechatronic systems to be efficiently modelled combining the advantages of a MBS software and control package within a single environment. Additionally SIMPACK can export the equations of motion into the Simulink environment resulting in a S-function for any multi-body system, which can then be used independently from SIMPACK. |

For about 20 years IPG has been the specialist for vehicle dynamics simulation. Since the beginning IPG has been focusing on simulation and tests for engine-driven road vehicles exclusively - passenger cars, trucks, racing cars and motorcycles. And for 15 years IPG has been spearheading the hardware in the loop market for vehicle development. This is the basis on which IPG develops and distributes the CarMaker® product family - tried and tested standard tools with a leading technology for extremely realistic virtual driving:
At the International Automotive Conference 2004 the focus will be on the new, heavily improved version 2.0 of CarMaker for Simulink and CarMaker/HIL. CarMaker for Simulink 2.0 especially features a revised modular block structure. Thus, existing functional units like braking system, powertrain or steering system can easily be replaced or extended in Simulink with user defined model parts. Adding complete subsystems like an ESP control unit may be done in a straightforward way. CarMaker for Simulink’s functional models and the entire simulation environment are identical to those of its real-time counterpart CarMaker/HIL. As one consequence, automated test runs created in CarMaker for Simulink may be executed on a CarMaker/HIL test stand in later stages of development. Likewise, features like automated test execution and Direct Variable Access are available. |
