Design and Verify Signal Processing Systems Using MATLAB and Simulinknew

Seminar Overview

Embedded Signal Processing_short

MATLAB® and Simulink® software provide algorithm designers, system architects, and embedded hardware and software engineers with a comprehensive set of tools that address the challenges of ever-shorter design cycles for systems with ever-increasing complexity.

Using MATLAB and Simulink, you can model and simulate systems and algorithms at a high-level of abstraction, design algorithms for implementation on embedded signal processing hardware and software, and achieve early verification of your solution before costly commitment to dedicated hardware and/or licensed IP cores. Using these tools and techniques, engineering teams have saved up to 90% of their verification time and cost.

Attendees will learn step-by-step workflows for simulating system level behavior, modeling real-world impairments, developing and integrating implementation-ready algorithms, and re-using system-level test benches to verify hardware and software components. Illustrating these topics will be application-specific demos such as Digital Pre-Distortion (DPD) for wireless communications, real-time parametric equalization for audio and speech processing and fixed-point Digital Down Converters (DDC’s) for radar systems.

Who Should Attend

Familiarity with MathWorks products is not required. This seminar is intended for anyone involved in wireless communication system design or signal processing including:
  • Communications engineers
  • Electrical engineers
  • System architects
  • System engineers
  • Embedded algorithm developers

Seminar Highlights

In this seminar you will learn how MATLAB and Simulink enable you to:

  • Capture requirements in executable system models and rapidly construct test benches to validate algorithm correctness
  • Efficiently model the effect of RF impairments, complex timing, and fading multipath channels on receiver designs
  • Convert “Golden Reference” floating point MATLAB algorithms into fixed-point designs and embeddable C code
  • Integrate MATLAB and Simulink with commonly used third party tools to eliminate costly steps in verifying DSP software, HDL, and analog/mixed-signal implementations
  • Automatically generate efficient, readable C and HDL code
  • Rapidly test designs using Hardware-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop prototyping
