Seminar Overview

HEV_Image

In this free half-day seminar, MathWorks engineers will demonstrate how Model-Based Design can help you in hybrid electric vehicle development.

Whether you work on the vehicle level, system level, or the component level you will learn the basics of:

  • System level simulation and optimization
  • Design verification on the model level
  • Production code generation.

Plus, learn the tools that automate many of the engineering tasks in Model-Based Design, including:

Seminar Highlights

Introduction to Model-Based Design: MathWorks engineers will provide a brief introduction to Model-Based Design as a development methodology and how the key concepts behind Model-Based Design, including executable specification, design with simulation, production code generation, and continuous verification benefit the development of hybrid electric vehicles.

HEV Design Optimization: MathWorks engineers will show how Simulink and MathWorks physical modeling tools can be used together for building a vehicle system level simulation model. They will discuss techniques for building a large scale model, tradeoff between level of detail and simulation speed, and choice of simulation tools based on the physical domains and the objective of the simulation. Using a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) example, they will demonstrate how a system level simulation model can be used for component sizing and design optimization before prototype vehicles are built.

Control Development: MathWorks engineers will introduce the controller development process. Using the high-level control algorithms in the system level simulation model as an example, they will elaborate the controller design and verify the model. They will introduce how formal methods can be used in model. They will demonstrate controller implementation using production code generation and share techniques for optimizing the generated code for performance.
