The MathWorks to host presentation: Rapid FPGA Design and Implementation Using Model-Based Design

System designers rely on products like MATLAB and Simulink for developing innovative algorithms, modeling multi-domain systems, exploring the design space (performance/power/complexity), and creating executable specifications. Hardware designers are faced with the dual challenge of creating efficient implementations of these specifications, and verifying that these hardware implementations meet specifications.

In this session, attendees will learn how Model-Based Design with Simulink enables faster, more cost-effective development, implementation and verification of FPGAs and ASICs. Simulink HDL Coder generates bit-true, cycle-accurate, synthesizable VHDL and Verilog from Simulink models, Stateflow charts, and Embedded MATLAB code. EDA Simulator Link products integrate MATLAB and Simulink into FPGA and ASIC verification workflows, enabling efficient verification of RTL-level models with simulators like ModelSim and Questa. Used in combination, these products help shorten two of the most time-consuming and error-prone aspects of hardware design: RTL development and verification.
