The New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans
The New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans is a substance-free, not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating a one-stop service center to empower homeless veterans to address the issues leading to homelessness and unemployment, and to gain the tools to move toward independent living.

Habitat for Humanity International
HFHI helps provide affordable housing to homeless people who would
otherwise not be able to afford it. Unique "no-interest loan" and "sweat-equity" systems
give participants responsibility and real ownership of the project. HFHI involves volunteers from all walks of life in
giving to those in need (through time, money &, and labor). HFHI operates both
locally (in the Boston area) and globally (60 countries worldwide).

Gill Boys
Gill Boys trains members of the local community in circus skills, providing workshops and performances for the community. The Circus also provides performances to raise money for charity.
YES - Youth Enrichment Services
YES is a Boston-based non-profit organization that works with 7-17 year-old inner
city children from low-income families.
YES inspires young people with services that encourage them to explore,
to challenge themselves physically and mentally, and to interact with
positive role models. The MathWorks does a great deal of work with YES,
including helping their ski instructors with clinics for the kids and
supporting their Web site.

Scottish Rite Learning Center for Children
Masonic Learning Center for Children
The Learning Center was established in 1993 as a Masonic Philanthropy
providing one-on-one remedial therapy in reading, writing, and spelling
for children with language-based learning disabilities. These services
are provided entirely free-of-charge. Their mission is to teach children
in a manner that best suits their learning needs, and assist them in building
self-esteem and personal self-confidence. They also endeavor to make
the public more aware of the challenges experienced by these children,
and to increase awareness of the availability of treatment. The Greater
Boston 32nd Degree Masonic Learning Center for Children is part of a
larger network of 32nd Degree Masonic Children's Learning Centers throughout
the northeastern third of the United States.

West End House Boys and Girls Club
The West End House is situated in the Greater Boston area and offers at-risk children a variety of stimulating and fun activities in a safe, stable, and inclusive environment. This organization serves more than 1,000 girls and boys aged 7 to 20, from a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds. They serve their constituents based on two principles: "alternatives provide opportunity" and "we must give children their childhood."
Food Not Bombs
Food Not Bombs is an all volunteer organization dedicated to nonviolence. Each group recovers food that would otherwise be thrown out and makes fresh hot vegetarian meals that are served in city parks to anyone without restriction. The groups also serve free vegetarian meals at protests and other events. Anyone in the greater Boston and Worcester areas who is hungry can eat at Food Not Bombs.

Appalachia Service Project
The Pembroke Appalachia Service Project is a group of local high school
students, college students, and adult volunteers who will travel to
the Appalachia Mountain region to participate in the Pembroke Appalachia
Service Project, Inc., a national home repair ministry. In the past
30 years, more than 120,000 volunteers have repaired more than 8,000 homes
in Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, and Kentucky. With representation
and financial support from all across the Silver Lake Region and beyond,
this ecumenical group based at St. Thecla's Church will join other
young adults from all over the United States to provide warmer, dryer,
and safer housing for our neighbors in Appalachia.

LVA Literacy Unlimited
Literacy Unlimited trains tutors, evaluates potential students, matches students with tutors, and monitors results of matches. Students are adults who live in the greater Boston MetroWest area who have reading or writing needs or who are non-native English speakers. They learn reading and writing skills in order to pay their own bills, read directions, apply for jobs, get their GEDs, get driver's licenses, become US citizens, help their own kids with homework, and go to college. Hundreds of miracles happen each year thanks to literacy tutoring, and it benefits the community we live and work in.
Vermont Dismas House
VT Dismas House serves former offenders upon their release from prison. The transitional community offers former prisoners the opportunity to develop social skills, find jobs, and attend important substance abuse programs while they transition back into society.
National League of POW/MIA Families
The League comprises the close family members of the servicemen and civilians missing from the Vietnam War. There are 2,043 men still listed as missing, 47 of whom are from Massachusetts. The League monitors the US government's actions to fulfill its mission of the fullest possible accounting.
Boston Rescue Mission / Kingston House
Boston Rescue Mission serves the poor and homeless in Boston with
meals, clothing, training, and other services.
