Job Summary

The Infrastructure, Architecture and Tools team provides the infrastructure, architecture and development tools that support development activities spanning the entire MathWorks product family. As a member of this team you will contribute to the design and implementation of, next-generation, tools and technologies, used in the further globalization of The MathWorks family of products.

Responsibilities

• Work on products that contain multiple languages and support multiple platforms
• Help in the selection of methods and techniques for obtaining solutions for globalization of software and internationalization of source code
• As a member of this cross-functional team, you will network and collaborate with multiple internal groups to ensure quality of work
• Demonstrate expertise by developing platform independent API which abstracts functionality underneath
• Contribute to the effort of helping and mentoring other developers across all product areas
• Play a role in communicating strategy to the rest of the organization

Qualifications

• B.S. with 5-7 years or M.S. with 3-5 years in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant technical field.
• Proven experience working on projects focused on the internationalization andor globalization of software (i18n)
• Extensive coding experience, primarily in C++, and some in Java
• Demonstrated experience working comfortably with multiple operating systems, development environments, and programming languages
• Working knowledge of multiple platforms, including UNIX, Windows and MAC
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools and software engineering methodologies
• Must be quality oriented, and have an appreciation for craftsmanship
• Excellent project coordination, planning, and execution skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills 

Nice to have in addition to the above:

• Multilingual communication capability, both verbal and written
• Familiarity with MATLAB
• Familiarity with Boost
• Familiarity with ICU (International Component for Unicode)
