Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated software designer/engineer to join a dynamic, cross-functional team, responsible for designing and implementing MATLAB’s graphical user interface, and integration with the MathWorks web site. The candidate will be instrumental in helping to design an intuitive desktop application, which allows the user to seamlessly interact with both MATLAB and The MathWorks web site.

Responsibilities

• Be a key contributor in the design and implementation of new features within MATLAB’s graphical user interface
• Work closely with other development teams to ensure seamless integration with the MathWorks web site
• Actively participate in team planning, design discussions and reviews.
  

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other technical discipline
• 3-5 years of hands-on, industry experience in software engineering
• Must code fluently using Java
• Has a solid command of object-oriented design principles
• Experience in GUI design using Java based technologies such as Swing, or SWT
• Demonstrated design, implementation and debugging skills
• Proven track record of using creative solutions to overcoming complex design challenges
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Nice to have in combination with the above:

• Development involving technologies such as SOAP, SwA, and SAAJ
• Experience using JIDE
• Experience with MATLAB
