Job Summary

Lead GUI development on the Math Toolbox Team which develops MATLAB-based statistics and optimization functionality for scientific and engineering applications. Take technical leadership in designing and implementing GUI’s for both our existing Math Toolboxes as well as future applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of new GUI features in the Math Toolbox area
• Develop requirements through customer interviews and usability tests
• Develop GUI designs through prototypes and collaborative design reviews
• Develop appropriate architecture and implement the designs
• Work with Quality and Documentation groups to assure designs are well tested and easily understood by users
• Estimate and plan work to fit in each release showing mature project management skills

Qualifications

• A BS, or MS in Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or a related technical field with 5-7 years of commercial software development experience
• 3-5 years programming experience in Java, specifically Swing
• 3-5 years object-oriented application development experience
• Statistics, Optimization, Engineering or other related computational math experience
• Proven ability to mentor other developers and lead teams
• Demonstrated ability to ship products to customers
• Proven skills in architecture and design
• Strong communications skills
• MATLAB experience a plus
