Job Summary

The growth of model based design and automatic code generation has created demand for support of complex production deployments of Simulink, Stateflow, the Real Time Workshop Embedded Coder and other tools. Significant growth is also occuring in India in support of Multi-National outsourcing and India headquartered industry expansion.

This position requires a unique combination of leadership skills involving application engineering, software development, industry domain expertise, multi-national company engagement and India engineering practices. The candidate will support major corporate customers in the application of MathWorks products for Model Based Design. The support will involve recommending technical approaches using the existing products, providing customized solutions for advanced applications and collecting requirements. There will be special focus on simulation, automatic code generation and V&V. The successful candidate will help establish strong technical relationships with key customers.

The candidate will leverage skills in international engineering engagement, Model Based Design, MATLAB, Simulink, C and embedded systems to provide advanced model based design and code generation solutions. Projects will vary from short duration coaching to extended advanced deployments. The focus is on long term solid technical success driving an expansion of product usage.

This position will be part of a large international pilot support team with operations in Asia, United States and Europe. The international team operates within a common charter and process.

The position will lead technical staff in Bangalore. The ideal candidate would be someone wishing to eventually work permanently in India.

Regular visits to India will be necessary.

This role is a full-time leadership staff position, based in Novi MI, USA.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong engineering focus to ensure success of model based design and code generation projects in India
• Generate excitement, confidence and passion for usage of Model-Based Design and Real Time Workshop Embedded Coder in complex production deployments
• Serve as primary point of contact to select customers using Simulink, Real Time Workshop Embedded Coder and other related tools to provide technical assistance from short questions/answers to detailed deployment plans
• Work directly with select customers to establish project road maps for Model-Based Design and Real Time Workshop Embedded Coder deployments
• Establish global deployment plans that bridge support between India and US for Multi-National companies doing model based design in both countries
• Work with development engineers to implement required features or determine how to use existing features most effectively
• Establish technical procedures for solving complex deployment problems
• Extensive travel for customer presentation and planning discussions is required in India and US(35% to 40%)
• Work closely with sales teams and other customer facing staff focused on a fast paced and continually evolving strategy for successful adoption of tools for deployments
• Handle normal adminstrative management for team

Qualifications

• MS or Ph.D in Engineering or Computer Science
• Experience with using Simulink and Stateflow for controls, signal processing or software development
• Experience doing or coordinating engineer work in India
• Ability to clearly understand how Simulink and Stateflow models should be implemented in C
• Experience with embedded controls or signal processing software development and related technologies including one or more of the following:

- Real time operating systems (OSEK or other)
- Signal processing
- VHDL and FPGA Design
- Detailed usage of cross compiler and linker
- Application or development of device drivers
- Performance tradeoffs between resources


• Experience with C and either MathWorks “M” or “TLC” languages
• Strong desire and ability to work with customers and turn their needs into actionable plans
• Effective verbal and written communications skills that are effective in both India and United States
• Flexibility to work on multiple projects with ability to multi-task based upon frequently changing business opportunities and external demands
