An Application Engineer (AE) uses his/her knowledge and industry experience to engage with prospective customers, understand their workflow, and demonstrate or explain how software tools from The MathWorks can solve their problems and, in turn, improve their engineering processes.

An AE at The MathWorks is characterized not only by their technical know-how but their presentation and people skills as well. This position is primarily a customer-facing role where you will use your expertise in technical computing.

We are now looking to expand our Nordic AE team and are looking for an individual with knowledge and experience from:

Mathematical computation with MATLAB
Data analysis and visualization
Algorithm development

Responsibilities

"You will be working as part of a talented, high-energy team and each day you will be using your programming, mathematical, industry domain, and interpersonal skills to help our customers derive value from investing in MathWorks products. The MathWorks products allow engineers and scientists to accelerate their research, reduce development times and deliver better products. Key tasks that define this role are: 

-Provide technical pre-sales support and guidance to The MathWorks Nordic Sales organization 
-Help sales representatives understand and synthesize customer requirements and explain the features and  capabilities of our products and related third-party products relative to customer needs
-Prepare and deliver product presentations and seminars to customers and prospects
-Develop demonstration programs, application examples, and simulation models
-Analyze user problems to determine and implement the best computational approach
-Help customers solve specific problems using MATLAB and appropriate toolboxes
-Provide feedback of your finding from customer interaction to our development and marketing organizations. 

Qualifications

This person should possess an advanced degree in Math, Science, or Engineering and have 2+ years experience in performing technical computing tasks with MATLAB.
-Very strong knowledge of (and enthusiasm for!) MATLAB is essential; experience with a broad set of      MathWorks products is a plus.
-The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to perform computational analysis, modelling, and simulation tasks and be able to discuss how our products are used to solve science, engineering and business problems.
-You are required to have programming knowledge in other programmming languages besides MATLAB such as C, C++, C#, Java, or Fortran.
-Applications experience in areas such as signal processing, test and measurement, statistics, optimisation, linear algebra is also a plus.
-The position requires proficiency in the delivery of presentations and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Candidates should be interested in working directly with customers to help them understand how to apply our products to their problems.
-Because of the geographic focus of this position the majority of the traveling will happen throughout the     Nordic countries.
-Fluency in Swedish and English.
