Job Summary

The MathWorks core software platforms, MATLAB and Simulink, form the foundation of an integrated model-based design environment.

Sales Support Specialists primary responsibility is the creation of qualified opportunities to be passed on to Sales Representatives.

This individual will also bring in annual software maintenance orders, cover open territories, prepare quotations, and handle general management of the daily account activity via the telephone.

Although outbound phone work is the primary focus of this position, generalists will also be expected to support customers via email and the World Wide Web.

Responsibilities

•Timely follow up and qualification of marketing and sales leads.
• Attainment of goal for annual maintenance revenue.
• Prospect within territory via account management activities.
• Manage designated sales from lead to close.
• Development of account management strategy in conjunction with sales rep.
• Insure customer satisfaction through in-depth account knowledge and relationship development with key administrators and purchasing contacts.
• Involvement in planning and delivery of annual account plans.
• Prepare quotations for maintenance add-on sales to existing customers.
• Process purchase orders for submission to order group.
• Work in conjunction with Sales Rep to achieve revenue goals through facilitation of order placement.
• Participation in weekly sales funnels meetings.
• Provide coverage of open territories (including general management of the daily account activity via the telephone on a back-up basis).
• Maintain comprehensive contact, lead and opportunity details on The MathWorks CRM database.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.
• 3+ years of sales support, lead management or customer service experience.
• Familiarity with software licensing and policies.
• Strong organization/prioritization skills.
• Experience working in a goal-oriented environment.
• Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines.
• General understanding of the function of a sales representative.
• Strong listening, probing, and phone skills.
• Strong English speaking and written skills.
• Thoroughly familiar with the use of spreadsheets, word processors, and the web.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Self-motivated and goal driven, creative, high-energy and a strong team player.
• Strong work ethics and organized, quick learner
