Job Summary

Are you a Software Engineer who is dedicated to the user experience and builds software that once it ships “It just works”? We are in search of a talented and energetic software engineer to work on The MathWorks products for Apple platforms. A qualified candidate must have a passion to learn how to design, develop and ship complex desktop or mobile software applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new features and user interfaces that enable our products to work more effectively on Mac OS X.
• Ensure that integration of new technologies on Mac OS X is seamless and does not introduce regressions in functionality or performance.
• Evaluate and help influence the adoption of new technologies, mobile platforms and future directions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years industry experience with C++ or Objective-C
• M.S. or equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering
• Excellent object-oriented design skills
• Excellent project management skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Mac OS X based development background strongly preferred (Xcode, Shark, Instruments), Unix familiarity preferred
• Strong debugging skills

Pluses

• Hands on experience with MATLAB on Mac OS is a plus
• Working knowledge of Java is a strong plus
• Familiarity with AppleScript, Perl, and/or Unix shell scripting is a strong plus
• GNU (gcc, gdb) development experience a strong plus
