The primary responsibility of this position is to support customers using MATLAB parallel computing products in medium and large scale HPC environments with a primary focus on customers evaluating the products prior to purchase. This position will be co-located alongside Development staff working closely with prospective and existing MathWorks customers to help with their integration tasks. The person will also work in a team environment with Sales, Consulting, and Training organizations when it is best suited for the customer. This position will perform pre-sales and post-sales support activities for software integration of MathWorks products into customer’s IT environments. This requires in depth knowledge of the multitude of clustering and scheduling methods and willingness to learn the current enterprise practices. The MathWorks software products allow software application development engineers to manage the research, design, testing, and implementation of desktop application tools at a high level, allowing the rapid development of innovative software applications.

Responsibilities
- Provide advanced application support and guidance on issues:
- Escalated from sales and application engineering
- Relating to the MathWorks major accounts
- Relating to a strategic Account, Application, or Industr
- Requiring customer application knowledge and integration challenges the customer is facing, not only expertise on MathWorks product use
- Perform extended evaluations (including coaching and best-practices advice) in our HPC products to our customers to showcase how they can be used to build technical computing applications. This includes coordinating activities of multiple internal and external teams to insure customer success.
- Determine customer requirements and recommend effective solutions. This involves analyzing users’ problems to recommend and demonstrate the best computational approach. This may involve writing custom code or advising on cluster configuration issues to insure our products integrate smoothly into their IT environments.
- Communicate and work together with MathWorks Development staff when inherent tool design knowledge is needed.
- Perform in-depth workshops on various technical topics related to HPC and out HPC products.
- Provide direct customer feedback to MathWorks development for future enhancements to the MATLAB and future product possibilities.
Qualifications Required / Preferred
- An advanced Technical degree, M.S. or Ph.D. and have substantial and applied experience in high performance computing
- Knowledge of cluster and cloud computing including familiarity with scheduling software like LSF, Windows HPC Server, SGE, PBS and/or others
- Excellent trouble-shooting, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Candidates must be interested in working directly with customers to understand their real engineering challenges and to help them understand how to apply our products to their problems
Pluses:
- Knowledge of MATLAB and MathWorks HPC products.
- Experience with Linux, Windows, Mac OSX (as many as possible)
- Familiarity with Installation and Licensing managers
