Job Summary

Do you find it challenging to access the data you want in the format you need?  Help advance the pace of discovery in engineering and science by building new features of the MATLAB language to help technical application developers in their work. Work as part of a team responsible for the MATLAB object system. Begin by developing new ways to save and access scientific and engineering data. Work on external data formats to enable client applications implemented in a variety of languages and technologies to access and work with MATLAB data.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team developing new MATLAB serialization interfaces.
  • Gather requirements, design, implement, test, and maintain new language features and interfaces.
  • Support application authors and their needs for object versioning and compatibility.
  • Work closely with Quality Engineering to develop testing strategies for new features.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a master's degree, or a PhD degree is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong C/C++ coding and debugging skills
  • Strong object-oriented and software interface design skills
  • Familiarity with MATLAB
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with Google Protocol buffers and/or Facebook Thrift a plus
