Job Summary

Working under the direction of Engineering Manager 1, will be responsible for evolving the MATLAB user interface and developing features that open the door of MATLAB technical computing to MathWorks’ customers; using Java, Web, and HTML programming skills, OO design knowledge, and multi-threaded development experience, for designing, maintaining, and enhancing MATLAB user interface components; learning MathWorks’ existing codebase, for refactoring expertise to componentize code for sharing between platforms, and working on a cross-functional team to propose, design, and execute new features; and working closely with different core MATLAB teams.

Qualifications Required / Preferred

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or Telecommunications and five (5) years of experience in job offered or five (5) years of experience in MATLAB-based GUI development.

OR

Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or Telecommunications and one (1) year of experience in job offered or one (1) year of experience in MATLAB-based GUI development.

Special Requirements:

  • Demonstrated expertise programming in MATLAB, MATLAB Class Object System, Handle Graphics and MATLAB based GUI development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in single page dynamic web application development using JavaScript Frameworks, HTML5, and CSS3, including iterative development practices and continuous integration.
  • Demonstrated expertise in SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) including requirements gathering, architecture, integration, and testing according to Waterfall methodologies.
