Managing Editor

Job Summary

MathWorks, the makers of MATLAB and Simulink, is seeking a unique individual to take on the newly created position of Managing Editor.

Responsibilities

Combining a deep engineering expertise with extensive journalism and/or social media experience, this person will join the global public relations team and be responsible for:

• Managing an editorial strategy for MathWorks media channels
• Collaborating with colleagues to align diverse content development efforts with company priorities and initiatives
• Identifying and tracking technology topics and issues most relevant to MathWorks
• Creating and curating multiple forms of compelling content
• Playing a key role in evolving the company’s online newsroom into a diverse content platform for engaging customers and other key stakeholders

Qualifications Required / Preferred

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A proven engineering expertise and current knowledge of technical computing and model-based design
• Demonstrable editorial experience in technology trade publications, corporate publishing, industry analyst firms and/or social media channels
• Strong project management skills
• 10+ years experience developing content for an engineering audience
• BA/BS in engineering or journalism; Advance degree preferred
