Job Summary

Join our Physical Modeling team! We focus on creating cutting-edge simulation engines, tools, and component libraries to easily and accurately simulate physical systems. Your primary focus will be advancing our library of fluid components (isothermal, thermal, two-phase, multi-phase) and creating new Simscape based component libraries. We seek an individual excited about creating high quality and highly usable component libraries for engineers and scientists. You will apply your expertise in engineering and mathematics to solve real-world challenges for engineers worldwide. You will create components to model a variety of fluid flow and thermodynamic systems including heating, cooling, HVAC, refrigeration, and environmental systems. 

Responsibilities

  • Advance and expand our library of fluid components (isothermal, thermal, two-phase, and multi-phase)
  • Understand user requirements, derive equations, and implement equations in Simscape and the Simscape language
  • Implement equations favorable for robust simulation

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience, or master's degree and 5 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of fluid systems: hydraulics (isothermal fluids), thermal fluids, two-phase fluids, and multi-phase fluids
  • Deep understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer
  • Strong mathematical background
  • Strong simulation experience
  • Experience modeling and simulating physical systems
  • Experience with finite volume methods and fluid dynamics simulations
  • CFD modeling and simulation
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink
  • Experience with Simscape and the Simscape language
  • Commercial software engineering experience
