Job Summary

In this internship, you will have the opportunity to apply your strong web development skills to prototype advances in Model-Based Design. Model-Based Design is an exciting application area for your skills. Engineers from around the globe use Model-Based Design to create the embedded software in everything from cars to communication devices to spacecraft to medical instruments. Model-Based Design provides powerful levels of automation to the design process. This allows smarter and smarter embedded devices to be brought to market faster and faster. Through your skills and your drive can be part of advancing this technology.

Candidates for this position must have experience developing a web app or a dynamic web site. This experience can be professional, private, or academic, but it must be deep enough that you can quickly and independently create a new app or site. You should be skilled at use of Javascript on the client-side. You should also be skilled at server-side development such as interaction with a database.

You will work closely with a team of engineers highly experienced in software development, testing, and Model-Based Design. You will explore the use of web technologies to provide improved interfaces to Model-Based Design automation. You will deliver polished proof-of-concept prototypes.

Qualifications Required / Preferred

  • BS in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Deep experience independently creating a web app or a dynamic web site
    • Very strong working knowledge of HTML5
    • Very strong working knowledge of Javascript
    • Experience with server-side design and development
    • Knowledge of Dojo Toolkit is a plus.
  • Must be a self-starter with the initiative to drive projects to completion.
  • Committed to continuous self-improvement of software development skills.
  • Must be passionate about technology, software development, and innovation.

Knowledge of MATLAB and/or Simulink is a plus.
