IT Security Manager

Job Summary

The IT Security Manager will be responsible for managing and leading a diverse team of IT Security administrators and the IT Security team during day-to-day operations and proactive project planning and execution of IT Security initiatives.    

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the  development and implementation of the IT Security Program and key priority projects like Securing Customer Artifacts, and the Identity & Access Management program    
• Defining and monitoring the implementation of the IT Security Strategy               
• Responsible for aligning technology and business needs with IT Security Standards         
• Collaborates with Application Development, Infrastructure, Architecture and other departments, as needed to provide guidance and clarify IT Security's expectations for securing systems to ensure adherence to policies and standards         
• Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with other adjacent IT teams and Business areas to facilitate cross functional problem resolution and process improvements
• Provide assistance to internal customers and team members in resolving non-standard incidents or situations  
• Communicate status of the IT Security program to key stakeholders       
• Keep aware of technology and industry security trends and their relevance to MathWorks operations  
• Ensure security compliance, audit, and reporting on incidents    
• Promote security awareness and education       
• Drive the documentation and implementation of policies and procedures           
• Manages a team of administrators and guides the IT Security team responsible for ensuring security for our worldwide data, applications, and network systems              
• Establish and maintain a professional, trained, and motivated staff through effective implementation of performance standards           
• Provide regular direct feedback via annual reviews, one-on-one meetings, and informal coaching opportunities to team members regarding career development, performance issues, teaming skills, process issues, and decision-making skills               
• Establish operational and team goals and objectives and work plans       

Qualifications Required / Preferred

• BS degree in Computer Science or MIS with 10 - 15 years of IT experience and 5 years within a IT Security management position               
• 7+ years of IT Security system and processes experience         
• Excellent oral and written communication skills             
• Knowledge of Information Security best practices. Knowledge of Information Security systems including firewalls, SIEM platforms, vulnerability testing, and virus protection      
• Knowledge of regulatory environments (Sarbanes Oxley, PCI). Knowledge of governmental security regulations          
• Experience with IT Security Program for a high tech company
