JavaScript Mobile Developer - Android
Job Summary
As the Mobile Applications Software Engineer, you will work on the MATLAB Mobile team. MATLAB Mobile enables phones, tablets and other mobile devices to connect to the power of MATLAB and mathworks.com.
Responsibilities
You will join a dynamic, cross functional to learn and apply new mobile technologies. You will participate in all stages of design, coding, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance. In your pursuit to produce top quality products, you will partner with Quality Engineers and Usability Specialists, and participate in team code reviews. You must be passionate about keeping up-to-date on the fast moving mobile technology landscape.
Qualifications Required / Preferred
- BS degree plus three (3+) years of commercial software engineering experience, or MS degree, in Computer Science.
- 2 years mobile application development experience
- Experience with mobile web technologies including Android, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Cross browser development experience
- Ability to triage issues, react well to changes, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to triage issues, react well to changes and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Technical curiosity about new and emerging technologies
Nice to have:
- MATLAB experience is a plus
- Android and/or iOS is a plus
- HTML5 is a plus
- Web services development experience is a plus
- Unit testing framework experience is a plus
- Mobile web framework experience is a plus
