Job Summary
The Lifecycle Marketing Program Manager drives software release planning and implements business processes for MATLAB, our flagship product; associated toolbox products; and new cloud and mobile offerings. The candidate will manage programs that enable efficient planning and decision-making at each stage of the product lifecycle, from concept through Go-To Market, launch, and maturity.
This high-visibility position provides an opportunity to work closely with multiple business areas including Product Marketing, Development, Program Management, Pricing and Licensing, and Customer Support, using product and program management skills to ensure smooth product releases.
Responsibilities
- Manage opportunity assessment processes for new product concepts. Identify, scope, and prioritize candidate projects with Product Marketing and Development, drive product naming processes, and communicate to business area stakeholders. Evolve market assessment analyses, including market sizing and segmentation.
- Manage the content creation process for all Go-To-Market and launch plans for MATLAB and Toolbox product releases with Product Marketing and provide guidance on best practices and analyses. Support the creation of revenue and license impact analyses with Product Marketing for product restructuring projects, and coordinate implementation activities. Coordinate design reviews and facilitate plan reviews with Marketing and Development management
- Create business processes for web-based releases that integrate marketing and development processes and timelines. Communicate best practices and guidelines through formal rollouts to stakeholder teams. Recommend and manage future projects to optimize these processes, and implement appropriate changes.
- Lead cross-functional team reviews of release details to determine business impact, identify stakeholders, and recommend actions for resolving non-standard aspects. Determine appropriate solutions and lead implementation activities.
- Analyze process performance to identify trends, problems, and opportunities for improvement. Recommend and manage projects to optimize lifecycle processes. Implement appropriate changes and develop metrics for evaluation.
Qualifications Required / Preferred
- 8-13 years’ experience in Program Management, Product Management or product release-related role
- Exceptional program and project management skills
- Experience with web-based, cloud, or mobile products a strong plus
- Software industry experience preferred
- Ability to work across functional areas
- Strong organization skills; highly detail-oriented
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of product lifecycle concepts
- Experience using data to drive decisions
