Release Engineer - MATLAB / Simulink

Job Summary

The Build and Release Engineer is responsible for releasing the MATLAB and Simulink product family on schedule. You will be accountable for maintaining the integrity of source code in the repository, helping to resolve build and test issues, coordinating branch strategies, and the overall management of the automated build and test system.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the automated build and test system.
  • Investigate, debug, and resolve automated build and test issues.
  • Work with Engineering and QE to refine and improve the development process.
  • Develop tools to improve the efficiency of the integration and release process.
  • Build and deliver our general releases, web products, service packs, and beta products.
  • Assist Development with change management (e.g., adding new platforms, compiler updates, or operating systems changes).

Qualifications Required / Preferred

  • B.S. degree and 3+yrs of experience, or M.S. degree and equivalent professional work experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Perl and Shell scripting experience.
  • Excellent coordination, planning, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desire and ability to work in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment.

 Pluses:

  • Familiar with object-oriented programming languages (C++ / Java).
  • Experience with an automated build system.
  • Experience with a source control management system, such as CVS and/or Perforce.
  • MATLAB programming / debugging skills.
