Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for product marketing and product management projects to grow the MathWorks Statistics, Data Analysis, and Computational Biology business areas. You will accomplish this by identifying key target customers, their needs, and relevant product capabilities and developing marketing plans, messages, and content that address that market. In addition, you will work with development teams and key stakeholders to develop and implement product plans.
Responsibilities
- Drive marketing strategy and tactical planning for new growth areas.
- Working with development teams, develop product plans by collecting and synthesizing customer requirements, use cases, and personas; developing multi-year roadmaps informed by the medium- to long-term direction and opportunities; and collaborating with technical marketing and development teams in adjacent areas.
- Produce outbound selling materials and collateral to drive awareness and adoption of your products, including web pages, videos, and demos.
- Produce content and messaging for lead generation including webinars and web offers.
- Support the sales force and application engineers with materials necessary to sell our products to key industries. These include customer presentations, training, and tools.
- Measure sales effectiveness for your product area and develop plans to enhance penetration and growth in both commercial industries and academia.
Qualifications Required / Preferred
- Masters in science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or related scientific discipline
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Experience in statistical analysis and mathematical modeling and their application in science and engineering
- Knowledge of MATLAB, Statistics Toolbox, or Curve Fitting Toolbox, or alternatives
- Experience in product marketing and/or product management, or application engineering
- Experience and/or eagerness to work with software development, marketing, application engineering, and sales teams in a highly collaborative, consensus-based team environment
- Experience supporting technical software products
- Strong presentations and writing skills
Pluses:
- MBA or Ph.D.
- Knowledge of R, SAS, machine learning, or neural network
