Job Summary

Join our Physical Modeling team! We focus on creating cutting-edge engineering simulation tools to easily and accurately model and simulate physical systems. Your primary focus will be strengthening SimMechanics by advancing our multibody algorithms and simulation technology, especially in the area of deformable and flexible body simulation. You will be responsible for gathering user requirements, developing multibody simulation algorithms, implementing the algorithms in software, and integrating the software into SimMechanics. We seek an individual excited about creating great software tools for engineers and scientists. You will apply your expertise in software, engineering, and mathematics to solve real-world challenges for engineers worldwide. 

Responsibilities

  • Expand the multibody algorithms and capabilities of SimMechanics, especially in the area of deformable and flexible body simulation
  • Gather user requirements
  • Design and implement new features and functionality for advanced multibody modeling and simulation
  • Research algorithms, implement algorithms in software, and integrate with SimMechanics
  • Help maintain, support, and improve SimMechanics
  • Work closely with a small team of talented developers

Qualifications Required / Preferred

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Expertise in multibody algorithms and techniques
  • Experience with flexible and deformable multibody simulation
  • Strong mathematical abilities
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and strong C++ and C programming skills
  • Passionate about designing and implementing solid reusable software components

 Plusses:

  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink
  • Experience with engineering simulation tools
  • Commercial software engineering experience
