Physical Modeling Product Marketing Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive individual to drive our modeling and simulation products deep into existing and new market areas. Built on top of our successful Simulink platform, the physical modeling products enable engineers to intuitively model, simulate, and test complex physical systems and their controllers. You will be responsible for technical marketing projects for Simscape and other physical modeling products like SimMechanics and SimPowerSystems. This is your opportunity to leverage your experience with mechanical, electrical, and other systems in the growing engineering community that uses Simulink and Simscape. Join our product marketing team and help us set the trends for modeling and simulation in engineering and science worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with sales teams in support of sales opportunities and major programs for your product area.
  • Work with Education sales to support professors and book authors in use of the products.
  • Create and maintain technical product examples.
  • Analyze web traffic and optimize web pages for readability and visibility.
  • Create product video and webinar content for the web site.
  • Work directly with key customers and MathWorks development teams to identify new product requirements.
  • Measure sales and pricing effectiveness for your products, initiate and develop plans to enhance penetration and growth.
  • Plan and manage focused competitive analysis for your product area and develop positioning and response.
  • Produce technical papers, articles, and user stories in support of the product area.

Qualifications Required / Preferred

The successful candidate must have a deep understanding of dynamic system modeling and simulation including a background in electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic system analysis. He or she must also possess the following:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Solid quantitative ability
  • Strong overall marketing, research, and planning skills and
  • Excellent customer interaction skills

Requirements include a degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, control engineering or in a scientific field relevant to MATLAB or Simulink use, and at least 5+ years of professional experience (including 2+ years in marketing or technical sales).

Experience with Simulink or equivalent products is highly desirable. International experience is desired. Industry experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or related industries is also desired. MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
