Principal HR Business Partner

Job Summary

As part of an expanding HR team, the HR Business Partner provides direction on employee relations, performance management, and organizational development initiatives for a designated department. This position also works with other HR team members to participate in or lead a variety of projects. In addition, the opportunity exists for contributing to the design and delivery of training programs that support professional and management skill development for worldwide staff.

Responsibilities

As a Business Partner this position provides counsel on various employee relations and performance management issues and on organizational development initiatives. This includes building the business partner relationship with management and staff; understanding their business, goals, and challenges; and identifying and/or helping to address systemic issues. Employee Relations includes coaching and counseling management and staff on the performance management process and employee issues, providing direction on HR related topics and programs, and initiating and leading projects.

Qualifications Required / Preferred

• 13+ years of HR Business Partner experience with a focus on ER and OD
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Proven experience coaching and counseling all levels of staff on a wide variety of issues, and a thorough understanding of performance management systems and employment law.
• Knowledge of OD concepts and models, such as team effectiveness, change management, communication styles, facilitation, and leadership development.
• Highly skilled in facilitating meetings and creating and delivering presentations to a variety of audiences. On-line and distance delivery experience is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Training design, delivery, and reinforcement experience is desirable, particularly in the areas of professional and management skills.
• Computer skills in MS office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), SharePoint and HRIS. Comfortable using on-line collaboration tools such as WebEx or VNC.
