Job Summary
The MATLAB GUI QE team is seeking a highly motivated quality engineer with a passion for testing user interface capabilities. Being part of a dynamic team, you will be responsible for testing the next generation of tools and capabilities of the web-based GUI Design Environment in MATLAB. You will also engage early in the software development process, influencing requirements specifications, attending usability sessions, and discussing software design and testability with developers, to ensure high quality of our software and products in functionality and performance.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new test suites for state of the art interface design technologies, with strong emphasis on web-based GUI test automation.
- Develop test plans based upon functional and design specifications.
- Analyze and report bugs and work with software engineers to resolve them.
- Participate in functional reviews, test specification, documentation, and code reviews.
- Foster a continuous process improvement environment
Qualifications Required / Preferred
- BS with 3 years work experience or MS in Computer Science or Engineering
- 3+ years of programming experience in MATLAB, JavaScript, and/or Java
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Capacity to multi-task several testing activities concurrently
- Effective analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to triage issues and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have:
- 2-3 years Quality Engineering experience including GUI automation testing
- Experience with JavaScript test frameworks or tool, such as Selenium, jsunity, DOH, Synthetic Event Library
- Experience with GUI-building tools/software packages
