Job Summary

The MathWorks is looking for a smart, creative and energetic Software Engineer with expertise in building modern JavaScript UIs and widgets. Your interest, curiosity and passion should drive innovation and production quality to new levels. Successful candidates will work on an enthusiastic engineering team who share a passion for getting things done and delivering well crafted, high quality code.


  • Play a key role in designing, architecting, and developing JavaScript UI’s and widgets
  • Collaborate in a fast paced Agile environment with a highly cross-functional team
  • Design and implement multi-device modern JavaScript/HTML5/CSS applications
  • Develop requirements, write design specifications, and participate in code reviews

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with Java
  • Experience with JavaScript

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
  • Three years or more of commercial software engineering experience with extensive experience with JavaScript, CSS and HTML
  • Web Application and design experience with strong self-motivation
  • Excellent design skills, familiarity with Agile and test driven development
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Maven, TeamCity, Perforce, Continuous Delivery
  • Experience with WebWorkers, EcmaScript 6, WebSockets, Cometd
  • Experience with Google Gadgets, jQuery, Dojo, YUI or other Widget Frameworks
  • Experience with MATLAB
