Senior MATLAB Graphics Team Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to lead a team in the design, development, and delivery of MATLAB Graphics platform.  MATLAB Graphics provide a simple way to create great visualizations of data covering a range from simple plots, to advanced 3D visualization of volumetric data for users of all programming skill levels. 

Responsibilities

You will take a leading role and be hands on in all phases of the design, development, and testing of interfaces to complex graphics concepts, and rendering those graphics on the screen.  You and your team will work primarily in C++, but knowledge of other languages will be needed. 

Specifically, you will:

• Lead a team of individuals that design, implement, and test MATLAB Graphics
• Provide regular and direct feedback via annual reviews, one-on-one meetings, and informal coaching opportunities to team members regarding career development, performance issues, teaming skills, process issues, and decision-making skills
• Drive projects to completion while ensuring the application meets our high quality standard
• Write, present, and review specifications for graphics features, present to colleagues.
• Develop, debug, and unit test Object Oriented C++ code
• Develop code and strategy for supporting MATLAB, Java, and JavaScript code needed to display graphics on different platforms

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience, or master's degree and 5 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree is required.
• Mastery of C++

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading cohesive and motivated development teams
• Experience planning projects and meeting delivery deadlines
• Experience with Object Oriented programming
• Experience programming with OpenGL or OpenSceneGraph
• Experience setting direction for complex graphics projects
• Experience testing and debugging graphics applications
• Experience with Java, JavaScript, or MATLAB
