Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Working under the direction of Engineering Senior Team Leader 4, will be responsible for inventing and implementing novel user interactions and features; assisting users in creating well-laid-out, understandable, readable, and beautiful diagrams, enabling scientists and engineers around the world to work more efficiently and effectively; designing, implementing, and maintaining large portions of graphical editors; taking designs all the way from concept to completion; and documenting and communicating ideas.

Qualifications Required / Preferred

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering or Computer Science and six (6) years of experience in job offered or six (6) years of experience in the design and development of an interactive charting or graphics engine.

OR

Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering or Computer Science and two (2) years of experience in job offered or two (2) years of experience in the design and development of an interactive charting or graphics engine.

OR

Ph.D. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering or Computer Science and no experience.

Special Requirements:

• Demonstrated expertise writing GUIs in QT including loading and parsing data.
• Demonstrated expertise in programming in C++ and C# using low level graphics API to design and develop an interactive charting or graphics engine and simulating or display graphics in an interactive charting or graphics engine.
• Demonstrated expertise applying design patterns, idioms, or styles to the development of an interactive charting or graphics engine, including control versioning using Perforce.
