Job Summary

We are seeking a software developer to join the Computational Biology team to contribute in the development of graphical user interfaces that will advance the use of mathematical modeling in the biological sciences. The candidate needs excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to analyze, define, and integrate large software projects.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to all levels of the software development cycle including architecture, design, implementation, and testing.
  • Gathering requirements, designing/developing specifications and implementing plans for new capabilities
  • Programming and debugging in Java and MATLAB
  • Adhere to high quality coding and testing practices.

Qualifications Required / Preferred

  • B.S. + 3 years, or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical field
  • 3+ years of Java development experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a professional software development environment
  • GUI programming experience
  • Experience with OO design and API design
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with MATLAB development
  • Experience using HTML5 and JavaScript
  • Experience designing GUIs
  • Computational Biology domain knowledge is a plus
