Software Development Intern - MATLAB Performance
Job Summary

We are looking for individuals with a lot of energy and enthusiasm for developing their performance engineering and software development skills while helping to maintain and improve the performance of MATLAB. You will create performance analysis tooling, develop performance tests, monitor performance, and investigate performance issues.
Performance engineering plays an increasingly important role in the design of our solutions. You will work closely with experts in software performance and compiler technology creating the next generation execution engine for MATLAB. You will have opportunities to learn about cutting-edge technologies, and to help keep MATLAB at the forefront of technical computing.
This is a six month position from June 2013 to December 2013.
- Develop and enhance performance measuring and monitoring solutions.
- Monitor and investigate performance of the MATLAB code base.
- Assess performance of latest MATLAB code execution mechanism.
- Report findings to Engineering team.
Qualifications Required / Preferred
- Familiarity and interest in performance issues and tooling.
- Knowledge of any one or more of MATLAB, C/C++, Java.
- Operating systems familiarity (any one of Windows, Linux, Mac).
- Good oral and written communications skills and ability to take initiative are highly regarded.
- Familiarity with OOA/D and design patterns is a plus.
- Familiarity with makefiles and build processes are nice to have.
