Job Summary

Responsibilities

  • Manage post-sales advanced technical support activities towards customers who are using MathWorks’ tools to integrate other libraries and languages with their MATLAB code
  • Perform advanced support activities for integrating MATLAB with other programming languages and desktop applications including C/C++, Java, .NET, and Excel
  • This position will be co-located alongside Development staff, working closely with existing MathWorks customers to help with their integration tasks. The person will also work in a team environment with Sales, Consulting, and Training organizations when it is best suited for the customer
  • MathWorks software products allow engineers and scientists to manage the research, design, testing, and implementation of desktop application tools, allowing the rapid development of innovative software applications
  • Provide advanced technical post-sales support and guidance on issues:
    • Escalated from the technical support group
    • Relating to a strategic Account, Application, or Industry
    • Requiring customer application knowledge and integration challenges the customer is facing
  • Communicate and work together with MathWorks Development staff. This position will be able to facilitate source code modifications and troubleshoot issues involving core design aspects of the MathWorks tools.
  • Provide the highest customer support level complimenting the existing and standard technical support. Will work very closely with, mentor, and train existing support specialists within the Technical Support department.
  • Provide direct customer feedback to MathWorks development for future enhancement to the MATLAB product family

Qualifications Required / Preferred

  • Advanced Engineering or Computer Science degree, MS or PhD in an engineering discipline or computer science, and have a minimum of 3 years of experience in desktop development environments and languages
  • Knowledge of C, C++, Java, .NET, COM, FORTRAN
  • Knowledge of development tool chain for Windows
  • Demonstrated ability to perform software application development tasks, computational analysis, and algorithmic design
  • Excellent trouble-shooting, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Candidates must be interested in working directly with customers to understand their real engineering challenges and to help them understand how to apply our products to their problems

Qualifications desired:

  • Knowledge of MATLAB interfaces like MEX, MATLAB engine, or using Java from MATLAB
  • Experience with Linux and/or Mac OSX
