Job Summary

As a Senior Java Automation Quality Engineer you will be a resource for bringing new test automation technology and software testing strategies into the company. You will be responsible for developing and enhancing test tools, testing infrastructure, and automated and manual test suites for producing high quality Installation and Licensing products. In addition, you will collaborate with Quality Engineering and Software Development teams to create and evolve policies, best practices, and testing frameworks. As a key member of the Development team, you will drive a project from its early design stages and play a critical role in driving it to final product release. Responsibilities

The Senior Java Automation Quality Engineer will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of next generation tooling and infrastructure for testing our Installation and Licensing products.

 

  • Implement automated tests and test tools using Java, Perl, JavaScript, and related technologies
  • Contribute to team designs, specifications, and code reviews
  • Identify and initiate new projects for meeting testing needs and functionality
  • Consult with product teams on test strategy and design
  • Mentor junior engineers by applying your prior experience and demonstrated leadership skills
  • Performing interactive product testing
  • Reporting bugs and debugging test failures

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience, or master's degree and 5 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree is required.
  • Programming experience with Java

Preferred Qualifications

  • Programming experience with JavaScript, HTML5, and related technologies.
  • Excellent software engineering fundamentals and software design skills
  • Experience with GUI testing tools and test automation tools (e. g. Selenium, JMeter, Silk)
  • Experience developing and extending automated software testing tools
  • Hands on experience with Java and JUnit
  • Experience with continuous integration systems (Hudson/Jenkins, TeamCity, etc)
  • Experience in both black box and white box testing methodologies
  • Experience with virtualization using VMware and/or Xen.
