Job Summary
Support faculty members to develop curriculum and to contribute to content creation and technical engagement with Universities. Serve as an advisor and project manager for sponsored curriculum projects and an advocate for statistics and machine learning teaching and research using MathWorks tools. Interface with Product Management and Development specific to statistics and machine learning.
Responsibilities
Engage with Statistics and Machine Learning Thought Leaders:
- Pursue speaking opportunities such as workshops and panel discussions
- Visit strategic universities in the field and build relationships with thought leaders
- Pursue collaborative publication and speaking opportunities with thought leaders
- Identify courses where our tools are applicable
- Identify authors and encourage them to write new and updated editions using MATLAB
Engage with Development
- Work with development and product marketing to identify features needed by machine learning courses and researchers
- Develop competitive intelligence materials to help identify holes in our offering
Provide Curriculum Development Support:
- Solicit and identify opportunities for curriculum development
- Work with faculty members to define project scope, goals and deliverables
- Manage relationship and progress of projects
- Provide informal training, technical guidance and support to the course creation team (professor, Lecturers, Teaching Assistants, or Research Assistants).
- Help PR efforts relating to curriculum and research projects – publish joint papers and articles, seek speaking opportunities and build university relationships
Create Content:
- Develop models necessary to demonstrate proper usage of the tools
- Develop ramp-up and other materials needed by teams
- Support the creation of relevant white papers, examples, presentation materials, and event content (webinars, seminars, conferences)
- Work on projects to help dissemination and learning across teams and year over year.
Act as a Customer Advocate:
- Collect data and perform analysis on the needs of competition teams
- Interface with development to build internal awareness for competition needs
Strategy Development and Execution for targeted segments
- Develop a market map which identifies segments for statistics and machine learning for teaching and research
- Prioritize segments with respect to current product fit and long-term potential, and develop recommendations
Qualifications Required / Preferred
- Ph.D. in Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering
- Statistical Analysis and Machine Learning knowledge required
- 2+ years experience with MATLAB and related tools required
- Familiarity with alternative tools such as R, SAS, and SPSS
