Job Summary
Join the IT team and be responsible for administration and operations of enterprise storage platforms and a large VMWare virtualization environment. Participate in cross-functional teams driving the strategy for these platforms.
Responsibilities
You'll work as a technical lead on strategic global projects for the company, working alongside other globally distributed Storage and Virtual administrators to provide world class support including support and automation. Specifically you'll:
- Manage operations of multiple virtualization environments, including provisioning, deployment, reporting, workflow, and automation.
- Manage operations of multiple enterprise storage platforms.
- Troubleshoot networks, systems, applications, and storage related infrastructure to identify and correct operational problems.
- Provide technical solutions and guidance for internal customers.
- Maintain a solid working knowledge of the various virtualization and storage technologies and best practices.
- Assist in the research, selection and implementation of virtualization and storage solutions within MathWorks.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience, or master's degree and 5 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree is required.
- Demonstrated experience in/with VMWare
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise storage (NAS and/or SAN) strongly preferred
- Solid working knowledge of Storage systems and automation
- Solid working knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESX / ESXi (v4 / v5)
- Strong understanding of networking technologies
- Strong working knowledge of desktop and server Operating Systems
- Ability to work after hours, weekends and on-call as needed
