Technical Writer – MATLAB / Symbolic

Help us develop content that shows creative ways to solve technical computing problems in a wide range of applications. Become a part of a multi-disciplinary team and help shape the design of cutting-edge software.

Responsibilities

• Write user-focused content that explains key concepts and solutions to our end users
• Develop examples and tutorials to show how to use our software to solve a variety of technical computing problems
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to develop our products
• Help MathWorks develop next generation online resources
• Participate in the software development process, review software requirements and functional designs, provide comments and suggest improvements
• Identify missing topics and fill gaps in existing information

Qualifications Required / Preferred

• Advanced degree in a technical field (e.g., Math, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, etc.)
• Knowledge of symbolic computing or symbolic languages
• Experience with a programming language (MATLAB, C++, Java, Python, etc.)
• Ability to learn new technical concepts quickly
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to explain science and engineering concepts in writing

Plusses:

• Experience using MATLAB
• Experience using Symbolic Math Toolbox, Maple, or Mathematica software
• Experience writing for an engineering audience
