UI Software Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a software engineer who is passionate about user interface design to join our Physical Modeling development team. Our growing team creates products used by thousands of engineers worldwide. You will be working with a talented development team to design and implement new features. You will have the opportunity to work with traditional Java desktop applications, JavaScript-based web applications, and C++ infrastructure.

This job requires strong GUI development skills in Java/Swing, JavaScript/HTML, or related technologies. You must have strong requirements gathering, design, coding and debugging skill, with a commitment to developing high-quality and well-architected software. Although previous web development experience is not required, you must be interested in expanding your skills to include web user interface development.

Responsibilities

• Play a major role advancing the user experience of our products by creating new graphical interfaces as well as the supporting infrastructure.
• Work with internal and external customers in defining requirements, workflows, priorities, and features.
• Collaborate with other development teams and creatively invent new solutions.

Qualifications Required / Preferred

• B.S. with 3+ years of experience, or M.S./Ph.D. with 1+ years of experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related field
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals, software design, and user interface design skills
• Experience with C++ or Java/Swing, and related technologies
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Plusses:

• Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and our Physical Modeling tools
• Web development experience (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, etc.)
