Development Manager - MATLAB Web Applications

Job Summary

As a manager in our MATLAB team, you will utilize your leadership experience to drive enhancements and improvements to our product. You will be responsible for working with multiple business areas to gather requirements, drive key initiatives and define the strategy for a business area that directly impacts the future of MathWorks. You will participate in all stages of software development, while mentoring and developing a dedicated team of software engineers.


Lead an Agile team that designs, develops, tests and maintains MATLAB applications. 

Create and maintain area-wide project portfolios and plans

Drive projects to completion while ensuring the highest quality standards

Deliver regular and direct feedback via one-on-one meetings and informal coaching 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with Java
  • A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 5 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree) is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience developing Java web services
  • Object Oriented Analysis & Design skills
  • Knowledge of SDLC 
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing customer design requirements

Nice to Have:

  • TDD experience
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure services, such as AWS
  • Experience with MATLAB
