Software Developer - Cloud Data Storage

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented, self-directed software engineer to join an experienced team that is developing cloud-based storage solutions for MathWorks products. This position will require analysis skills, programming skills, a working knowledge of databases and strong interpersonal skills.

Current efforts of the team include:

  • A storage system to enable users to store, retrieve, and share their data across a variety of MathWorks products from anywhere around the world 
  • A system to capture, organize, and store large volumes of data about how users interact with our products 


Be part of an Agile team that designs, develops, and maintains cloud-based web applications. Participate in all team activities such as planning, requirements definition, design discussions, code reviews, and software development. Work effectively with other team members to provide a quality product for our customers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a master's degree, or a PhD degree is required.
  • Experience with Java

Preferred Qualifications

  • Object Oriented Analysis & Design skills
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Working knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases


Nice to Have:

  • Web application development
  • Automated test development, both unit and integration tests
  • Experience with Agile software development, Scrum or XP 
  • Data analysis skills
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure services, such as AWS
  • Experience with MATLAB
