Software Engineer – Web Services

Job Summary

We are seeking a self-directed software engineer to join a fast-paced team developing internet-based Web Services that provide integration between MathWorks and our products installed at both customer sites and in the cloud. You will be responsible for providing robust and flexible solutions that provide great value to our customers. This position will require excellent object-oriented design and programming skills, and strong inter-personal skills.

Responsibilities

Be part of an Agile team that designs, develops and maintains web service applications. Participate in all team activities such as planning, requirements definition, design reviews and software development.  Work effectively with other teams to provide quality products for our customers.

Qualifications Required / Preferred

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or related disciplines
  • 3+ yrs of experience in commercial software development
  • Experience with web services technologies and protocols including SOAP and REST.
  • Knowledge of databases and ORM
  • Strong Java / OO skills, Spring a plus
  • Knowledge of unit testing frameworks
  • Excellent communications skills


Nice to Have:

  • Experience with test driven development (TDD)
  • Experience with Scrum
  • Experience with large scale commercial web applications
  • Experience with AMQP, Grails, NoSQL
  • Project experience with cloud platforms, including Amazon EC2
