Logic modeling of the Simon Game Using Stateflow® and
the Virtual Reality Toolbox
by: Nicholas Pescatello
Logic modeling is an important component in the control design process.
Stateflow® provides an environment
for logic modeling that is seamlessly integrated with Simulink®,
a tool for dynamic system modeling. This article focuses on the design
of control logic for a handheld game using Stateflow and demonstrates
a method of visualizing and interacting with the system using the Virtual
Reality Toolbox...

Using PSAT, Simulink, and C to Facilitate Hybrid Electric
Vehicle Powertrain Control Strategy Development
by: Robert Schurhoff and Avernethy Francisco
The University of California at Davis was among 15 North American
universities to participate in the FutureTruck 2001 Competition. FutureTruck
challenges the participating teams to reengineer a conventional sport
utility vehicle to reduce emissions and fuel consumption without sacrificing
vehicle performance or safety. The UC Davis team successfully modeled
its hybrid-electric FutureTruck 2001 vehicle using a modified version
of PSAT 4.1, (PNGV Systems Analysis Toolkit), a Simulink based product
developed by Argonne National Labs. The UC Davis team chose an alternative
approach to powertrain strategy...

The Technical Support Guide to Upgrading your Simulink Model
This technical note describes the issues involved with upgrading to
Simulink 4 or 4.1. Problems can arise due to new blocks or libraries,
the support of new signal types (frame-based and matrix signals), or
changes in the name or functionality of a block. To avoid these problems,
Simulink and several other blocksets have built-in tools that aid in
updating your model...
