MATLAB and Simulink Based Tools for the Aerospace Industry

Tactical Engagement Simulation Suite (TESS) is a product line of simulations of electronic combat between missiles and ships or aircraft that use maneuvers and off-board or on-board ECM for platform protection. TESS offers high fidelity, dynamic simulations of missile aerodynamics, missile and seeker control systems, target signatures, and countermeasure waveforms. Measures of effectiveness include missile miss distance and probability of survival. TESS simulators run in both Windows and UNIX environments.

The Aircraft Control Toolbox is a complete aircraft control system design and simulation package. It includes a nonlinear aircraft model with an interactive GUI, 3-D graphics, and plotting. The user can add actuator, sensor, disturbance, and flexible component dynamics. The toolbox also includes an extensive set of modern control tools, including eigenstructure assignment, output feedback, and LQG/LTR tools in easy-to-use forms.

The Spacecraft Control Toolbox provides a comprehensive set of M-files for designing, analyzing, and simulating spacecraft attitude control systems. In addition, it provides a complete set of orbit analysis and mission planning functions. It covers all phases of attitude control system design, from requirements definition and pointing budget allocation, to mission operations support. Three additional products are available that extend the Spacecraft Control Toolbox: the Stellar Attitude Determination Toolbox implements a complete stellar attitude determination system that uses pattern and intensity matching to provide reliable star identification and permit acquisition from any orientation; the Spin Axis Attitude Determination Toolbox provides flight-proven tools needed to perform spin-axis attitude determination using horizon sensor and sun sensor measurements during spacecraft transfer orbit; and the GOES Toolbox provides access to magnetic field, particle, and X-ray data from the GOES series of geosynchronous satellites directly in MATLAB.
