File exchange and newsgroup access for the MATLAB & Simulink user community

MATLAB Central is a new gathering spot on the Web for the MATLAB and Simulink user community. This new site provides Web-based access to the MATLAB newsgroup (comp.soft-sys.matlab) as well as an extensive library of user-contributed files called the MATLAB File Exchange.

Through MATLAB Central, you can read and post messages to the busy comp.soft-sys.matlab Usenet newsgroup. You can also search the comprehensive archive of posts to that newsgroup, mining it for valuable information.

The File Exchange features hundreds of free M-Files and Simulink models, all written by members of the MATLAB community. You can quickly sort the contributions several convenient ways and contribute your own files.

Visit www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral to learn more about resources available at MATLAB Central.

The teams used hybrid electric designs to modify Chevrolet Suburbans, supplied by General Motors Corporation. Second and third places went to teams from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and the University of Maryland.

The MathWorks Vehicle Modeling Award, which is part of the overall competition, was also won by the team from the University of California, Davis. The University of Tennessee team placed second and Georgia Institute of Technology team was third. As a competition sponsor, The MathWorks donated software to all the teams.
