Simulink Report Generator 3 From The MathWorks Introduces Web View Capability of Simulink and Stateflow Models
Enables Users to Automatically Export and Share Models and Designs throughout an Organization
Simulink Report Generator 3 from The MathWorks enables users to automatically export Simulink and Stateflow Models to Web Views to share designs throughout an organization.
NATICK, Mass. - (31 May 2006)
The MathWorks today announced the availability of Simulink® Report Generator 3 with new features for simplifying information exchange and sharing design models throughout an organization. Simulink Report Generator now includes a Web View Exporting feature which creates interactive renditions of Simulink and Stateflow® models that can be viewed in a Web browser. The need to access and share models, especially across geographic locations, has become crucial to successful product development in industries such as aerospace and automotive, and this new feature meets that need.
As more organizations adopt Model-Based Design, they need a streamlined approach to communicating information and designs. The Web View Exporting feature builds on the previous multi-format report capabilities of Simulink Report Generator, so that users can navigate and view model hierarchy in Web views the same way they do in Simulink. By creating Web views that look and feel like Simulink models, users have a better visual understanding of the model - its construction, hierarchy, and parameters. As a result, design communication is improved, reducing errors from misinterpretations.
Simulink Report Generator and its Web View Exporting capability help organizations to communicate more efficiently by enabling design teams to have a better understanding of the model and to share that information both internally and externally with customers and suppliers. In addition, Web views and reports created by Simulink Report Generator ensure model consistency and eliminate the time consuming and costly practice of developing documents that detail different model levels. With the ability to view models royalty free in a Web browser, users no longer have to manually create, print out, and review hard copy documents.
"The MathWorks has heard a real need for better access and sharing of crucial design information within organizations adopting Model-Based Design, particularly in the aerospace and automotive industries where design reviews, and in general, test and verification, are fundamental," said Jason Ghidella, technical marketing manager, The MathWorks. "Simulink Report Generator and its Web View Exporting capability provides users with a much more cost- and time-effective approach for communicating hundreds of pages of information, saving countless staff hours and money."
