This example shows the use of a flow divider to split the flow equally between two consumers.
The model consists of a power unit, flow divider, and two consumers. The power unit contains the Hydraulic Flow Rate Source and Pressure Relief Valve blocks. The Flow Divider block splits the flow between the two identical Orifice with Variable Area Slot blocks.
To test the ability of the Flow Divider block to split the flow equally between the two consumers, the load in the branches is varied by changing the passage area of the load orifices by using the Signal Builder block.
Under the example parameters, the pressure differential across the Flow Divider fixed orifices is maintained close to 4.53e5 Pa. The pressure differential across the Flow Divider variable orifices varies from about 9.16e5 to 29.95e5 Pa to compensate for the load change. The flow rates in the branches deviate from 0.5533e-3 to 0.5446e-3 m^3/s, very close to the ideal half flow of 0.55e-3 m^3/s.
